Dangerous goods classes and documents

Dangerous goods are classified under the IMDG Code, and acceptance of any class depends on the carrier and the port. Send us the class and the UN number before you book so we can check the cargo can move.

Documents you will need

  • A current Material Safety Data Sheet in English.
  • The shipper’s dangerous goods declaration, to the IMDG Code.
  • A container packing certificate.
  • Correct placarding and marking before the box is handed to the terminal.

Some classes carry line or port restrictions and acceptance must be checked before booking. In Iranian ports, a dangerous goods container attracts three times the storage tariff.
