The Jebel Ali gateway

When there is no direct line into Iran

Many shipping lines will not send their own containers to Iranian ports. In that case the cargo is devanned in Jebel Ali, reloaded into our container, and sails to Shahid Rajaee under a fresh bill of lading. Warehouse, handling equipment and documentation all happen on the same site.

  • Step-by-step photographs of devanning and reloading
  • A piece count and condition report before sealing
  • A new bill of lading to the Iranian port of discharge
  • Marine cargo insurance on request

Common questions

What clients ask us before booking

Detention starts when the free days set by the line in the bill of lading run out, and is usually tiered, so the first days cost less than later ones. Port storage is billed separately from line detention and the two should not be confused.

In transhipment the container moves intact from one vessel to another. In cross stuffing the cargo is devanned from the origin line's container, reloaded into another, and a fresh bill of lading is issued.

Transit time depends on the crossing used, traffic at the border and how long customs formalities take. We give an indicative time for each route with the quotation, before you book.

Typically a commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading; and depending on the commodity a certificate of origin, inspection certificate or regulatory permit. We confirm the exact list before shipping.

Yes, provided the commodity falls in a permitted IMDG class and the safety data sheet and dangerous goods declaration are supplied. Some classes carry line or port restrictions.

The validity is stated on each quotation. Ocean rates are typically short-lived and are revised when the line rate or the surcharges change.
